Kech: Following the recent Balochistan Liberation Front’s attack on the Saindak and Reko Diq project compound in Nokundi, Chaghi district, the family members of Fidayee Zareena Rafiq, have been detained and subsequently disappeared after being taken into custody by Pakistani forces from Kech.
According to the family, Zareena’s father, Master Rafiq, was detained from the Tijaban, Kech, while her uncle Khudadad and her fiancé Zubair Baloch were picked up from Turbat city. Since their detention, the relatives claim that Pakistani forces have provided no information regarding their whereabouts, nor have they been granted any legal access.
The Nokundi attack began when a female Fidayee detonated an explosives-laden vehicle at the entrance of the compound housing foreign staff linked to the Saindak and Reko Diq projects, allowing other fighters to enter the facility.
The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) claimed responsibility for the assault, stating that the operation lasted 36 hours, during which several Pakistani security personnel were killed and foreign engineers associated with the mining projects were taken hostage. The BLF later announced that the operation had concluded and that a detailed statement would follow.
