Quetta: The protest camp established by the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) against enforced disappearances in Balochistan continued for the 6,003rd consecutive day under the leadership of the organization’s chairman, Nasrullah Baloch.
People from various walks of life visited the protest camp, joined the demonstration, recorded their protest and expressed solidarity with the families of the missing persons. They urged the government to put an end to enforced disappearances and take immediate practical steps for the recovery of the missing individuals.
The family of Arif Baloch contacted the VBMP and lodged a complaint, stating that Arif Baloch was detained by Pakistani forces on October 30 in Basima, after which he was forcibly disappeared. They said the authorities have provided no information regarding his safety, causing severe mental distress to the family.
It is noteworthy that Arif Baloch’s father, Zakir Ismail, has also been missing since February 11, 2013, due to an enforced disappearance. Arif had been struggling for his father’s recovery, and now he himself has become a victim of enforced disappearance. This has raised serious concern. The VBMP condemned the incident and demanded that the government ensure the safe recovery of both Arif Baloch and his father, Zakir Ismail
