
Medina: At least 42 people were killed on Monday morning in a devastating collision between a bus carrying Umrah pilgrims and an oil tanker in Saudi Arabia.
According to reports, the pilgrims were traveling from Makkah to Madina when the accident occurred. Between 42 and 45 passengers mostly from Hyderabad in the Indian state of Telangana lost their lives. Women and children were among the deceased.
Arab media reported that the collision triggered a massive fire, which significantly increased the number of casualties. Saudi emergency teams reached the site swiftly, launching rescue operations and transferring the injured to nearby hospitals.
Saudi authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the crash, while rescue teams continue efforts to manage the aftermath of the tragic incident.
