KECH: A bomb blast in Balochistan’s Kech district targeted Pakistani security personnel on Thursday, killing at least one soldier, according to local sources.
The explosion occurred in the Zamuran area near Kalki, where troops on foot patrol were reportedly struck as they arrived to secure an empty post.
Regional sources said one security personnel was killed in the attack, though official confirmation from authorities is still awaited.
Following the explosion, residents reported seeing a helicopter hovering over the area, suggesting an immediate search or evacuation operation by the security forces.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack. However, Baloch armed separatist organizations have been active in the region and have frequently carried out similar attacks targeting Pakistani forces in recent years.
