Germany: The Baloch National Movement (BNM) held a protest in Hanover, Germany, condemning Pakistan’s ongoing military operations, drone strikes and grave human rights violations in Balochistan.
Carrying banners and placards, protesters called for justice for the victims and demanded an immediate end to Pakistan’s military aggression in the region.
Speakers said that Pakistani forces launched aerial and ground assaults in Zehri, a tehsil of Khuzdar district in occupied Balochistan, resulting in the deaths of women and children and the destruction of homes and villages. According to them, Zehri has been under continuous bombardment for over a month, with communications cut off, a curfew imposed, and humanitarian access severely restricted. The protesters urged the European Union, the United Nations and other international organizations to send a fact-finding mission to the area.
BNM’s Germany chapter leaders Shar Hassan Baloch (President), Safia Baloch (Vice President), Shali Baloch (Joint Secretary), Jabbar Baloch, Sami Baloch, Luqman Baloch, Hammad Baloch, Sara Baloch, Mujeeb Abdullah Baloch, Akbar Sabz, Salam Baloch and Safia Gohar addressed the gathering. They condemned Pakistan’s military operations, enforced disappearances and drone strikes, describing them as collective punishment against the Baloch people. The speakers said Zehri has been turned into a “slaughterhouse,” calling on the UN, EU and human rights organizations to intervene immediately.
Several speakers referred to recent incidents, stating that drone strikes and helicopter shelling in Zehri and surrounding areas had killed multiple civilians. They added that these attacks are part of a broader campaign of repression by the Pakistani state against the Baloch nation, ongoing for years. The speakers also accused the Pakistani military of using religious and nationalist rhetoric to justify its operations.
The Baloch National Movement urged international human rights organizations to hold Pakistan accountable for its atrocities and to pressure Islamabad and Rawalpindi to end what they described as a campaign of genocide against the Baloch people.
At the conclusion of the protest, participants vowed to continue their struggle for justice, freedom and human dignity. One speaker remarked, “The world’s silence deepens our wounds every day, it is time for that silence to be broken.”
