Kech: In the Konshkalat area of Tump, Balochistan, Pakistani forces carried out late-night raids on several homes, including those of renowned Balochi singer Ustad Minhaj Mukhtar’s family and poet Habiba Peer Jan. According to local sources, during the raids, the forces harassed women and children and confiscated mobile phones from the houses.
Sources reported that the home of Balochi poet Habiba Peer Jan was searched extensively, and her family members were subjected to harassment during the operation.
Around the same time, Pakistani forces also raided the residence of Shaheed Asim in Nazarabad, where similar incidents of intimidation were reported. Witnesses said that the widow of Shaheed Asim was threatened not to participate in any protest, with warnings of severe consequences if she did.
It is noteworthy that Pakistani forces have repeatedly raided the home of Ustad Minhaj Mukhtar in the past, during which family members were harassed, and the residence was attacked with gunfire and grenades. Habiba Peer Jan, meanwhile, was previously subjected to enforced disappearance by Pakistani forces in Karachi; she was later released after enduring severe torture.
Residents have strongly condemned the repeated raids and harassment, calling them part of a continuing pattern of intimidation against civilians, artists, and intellectuals in Tump and nearby areas.
