Quetta: Two Men Forcibly Disappeared After Detention by Pakistani Forces

Quetta: Two young men have been forcibly disappeared after being taken into custody by personnel of Pakistani forces in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan.

The disappeared individuals have been identified as Huzaifa Buzdar, son of Zulfiqar Buzdar, and Rehan Buzdar, son of Naseeruddin Buzdar.

According to the families, both young men were detained by security personnel on August 24 from the Sabzal Road area of Quetta. The families stated that since their detention, no information has been provided about their whereabouts, nor have they been presented before any court.

Enforced disappearances have remained a grave human rights issue in Balochistan for the past two decades. According to human rights organizations, hundreds of people including students, political activists and civilians have been subjected to enforced disappearance at various times.
