Quetta: The family of Ghani Baloch held a press conference at the Quetta Press Club, urging authorities and human rights organizations to take immediate action to secure his release. Ghani Baloch has been forcibly disappeared since May 25, 2025 and there has been no trace of him to date.
The family stated that 142 days have passed since his disappearance, yet neither the police, administration, nor the judiciary has provided any information about his whereabouts or custody. “We have followed every constitutional channel, approached the courts and submitted all evidence, but no institution has advanced the investigation,” the family said.
They added that the Khuzdar District and Sessions Court dismissed the case, claiming that the family could not provide sufficient proof of the enforced disappearance. The family rejected this reasoning, emphasizing that investigations are the responsibility of the state, not the affected family. They said, “We submitted dates, locations and transport company records, but the police neither contacted the company nor obtained footage from the vehicle or site.”
The family highlighted that Ghani Baloch’s disappearance is not only a personal tragedy but a violation of Pakistan’s constitution, which guarantees every citizen the right to life and liberty and requires that anyone arrested be presented before a court.
They stressed that over four months have passed without Ghani Baloch being produced or his whereabouts revealed, constituting both a constitutional and human rights violation. The family appealed to the judiciary, government, human rights organizations, and media to raise their voice and take effective measures for his recovery.
The family concluded by stating they will not remain silent until their loved one is returned.
