Bullet-Riddled Body of Missing Man Found in Barkhan

RAKHNI: A bullet-riddled body was recovered from Balochistan’s Barkhan district and later identified as Muhammad Nawaz, son of Shahsawar Khan.

According to local sources, Nawaz was detained by Pakistani security forces on September 10 from the Rakhni area of Barkhan. His family said they searched for him for weeks, but authorities neither confirmed his arrest nor acknowledged his detention. On September 30, his body was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds.

Local accounts suggest that Nawaz is the latest victim of enforced disappearance, a practice widely reported in the province where individuals are allegedly picked up by security forces or pro-government groups.

Human rights organizations have repeatedly expressed concern over cases of enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings in Balochistan, calling for transparency, accountability, and independent investigations into such incidents.
