TURBAT/KHARAN — The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has claimed responsibility for two recent attacks on Pakistani security forces, including the killing of two military intelligence operatives in Turbat and a direct assault on an army checkpost in Kharan.
According to BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch, on May 22, BLF fighters carried out a targeted operation in the Ziarat Sar area of Turbat, killing two key operatives of Pakistan’s Military Intelligence: Dilshad, son of Allah Bakhsh from Machhi Malaar, and Rashid Hakim from Turbat.
The statement said both individuals were deeply involved in counter-insurgency operations and intelligence activities against Baloch freedom fighters in Turbat and surrounding regions. Rashid Hakim was allegedly responsible for mobilizing and training youth for state propaganda and monitoring Baloch activists on social media. The group also claimed the pair played a direct role in abductions of local youth and coordinated blockades against BLF fighters in areas like Buleda and Kolwah.
The BLF further alleged that Rashid Hakim’s father, Hakim, was also previously targeted and killed by BLF fighters for his role in spying for state intelligence agencies.
In a separate incident, on the evening of May 25, BLF fighters launched an assault on a Pakistani military checkpost in the Tagzi area of Kharan. According to the group, fighters used rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs) and heavy weaponry in the attack, resulting in the deaths of two soldiers and partial damage to the post.
The BLF claimed both operations as part of their ongoing armed resistance against Pakistani forces in Balochistan. The group reiterated its commitment to continue targeting military personnel, intelligence operatives, infrastructure, and economic interests of the Pakistani state until the achievement of an independent Balochistan.
