QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN: The protest camp set up by Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) against enforced disappearances in Balochistan, located outside the Quetta Press Club, continued for its 6,317th consecutive day.

On this occasion, Akhtar Shah Mandokhail, head of the Zhob Jirga Committee, along with other individuals, visited the protest camp and met with the families of forcibly disappeared persons, expressing solidarity with them.

Today’s protest was attended by Jumma Khan Nichari and Jameel Baloch, who registered their protest against the forced disappearance of their loved ones.

Jumma Khan Nichari said he has remained in continuous contact with the relevant administration and senior authorities for the safe recovery of his forcibly disappeared wife Rafia Bibi, daughter Tania and niece Javeria, but that no information about them has been provided to him so far, leaving his family under severe mental distress and anxiety.

He said that Rafia Bibi, Tania and Javeria were taken into custody by personnel of state institutions on July 30 at the FC checkpoint at Lak Pass, Mastung and subsequently disappeared, but their family has not been informed of their whereabouts or legal status to this day.

Jameel Baloch stated that his brother Sohail Baloch and his friend Faseeh Baloch were taken into custody by security forces from the University of Balochistan. He said that Sohail and Faseeh’s case is currently under hearing in institutions established to provide justice, but they have not yet been granted justice in accordance with the country’s laws.

VBMP Chairman Nasrullah Baloch demanded that the safe recovery of all forcibly disappeared persons, including Rafia Bibi, Tania, Javeria, Sohail Baloch, and Faseeh Baloch be ensured immediately, and that effective and practical measures be taken to end enforced disappearances.
