In Balochistan’s Bolan district, a powerful improvised explosive device (IED) blast killed six Pakistani army personnel, including a Special Operations Commander, and injured five others. According to security sources, the explosion occurred in the Geshtri area of Bolan when a military vehicle was on routine patrol between Amir Post and Ali Khan Base.
The deceased personnel have been identified as Special Operations Commander Tariq Imran, Naik Asif, Subedar Farooq, Naik Mashkoor, Sepoy Wajid, and Sepoy Kashif. Five of the fallen soldiers reportedly belonged to Unit 135W.
The injured include Sepoy Zeeshan, Sepoy Shadman, and Naik Owais (from Unit 135W), along with Sepoy Zainullah and Sepoy Tayyab from the Special Operations Command.
Following the incident, security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. At least five military helicopters were seen patrolling the skies over the region, according to sources.
While Baloch armed groups have claimed responsibility for similar attacks in the past, no group has claimed responsibility for this particular incident so far.
