The mother of Muhammad Nasir Baloch, a police constable detained by the Baloch armed separatist group BLA, has issued a video message appealing to the organization to release her son on humanitarian grounds.
It is worth noting that a few days ago, Baloch fighters had set up a checkpoint on the main highway in Kalat city and took five personnel of the Lasbela police into custody. Among them was Constable Muhammad Nasir Baloch.
In her message, Muhammad Nasir’s mother stated that her son had no personal enmity with anyone and was only working in the police to provide for his family.
On Friday, Baloch fighters held control for several hours in the Manguchar area of Kalat. During this time, they seized and set fire to the NADRA office, judicial complex, a Bank, and other government buildings, while also targeting security forces.
Government sources confirmed that the detained officers had departed from Hub and included Sub-Inspector Anwar Baloch, ASI Ghulam Sarwar, Constables Shabbir Ahmed and Muhammad Iqbal Sheikh, Havaldar Faraz Ahmed, and Constable Muhammad Nasir. They were traveling in a private Hilux van.
As the van entered the Manguchar area of Kalat, unidentified armed individuals stopped the vehicle at gunpoint and abducted the officers, taking them to an undisclosed location.
The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the attack.
