Surab: Sit-In Protest Continues, Deadline Set for Release of Missing Persons

The sit-in organized by the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) and families of missing persons in Surab, Balochistan, continues. Following a brief reopening of traffic on the night of January 13, protesters have issued a 24-hour ultimatum to authorities, demanding the immediate release of all enforced disappeared persons.

The highway will be indefinitely closed again if the missing individuals are not recovered by 11:00 PM on January 14, Says Protesters Earlier today, a peaceful rally was held in Zehri by BYC and the families of disappeared persons, where participants raised slogans demanding the return of their loved ones.

The BYC has appealed to the people of Surab to show solidarity with the families from Zehri by joining the sit-in. While emphasizing the peaceful nature of the protest, the families have reiterated their unwavering resolve to pursue all avenues to secure their rights.
