From One Home: Two Killed in Fake Encounters, Father Still Missing And the State Expects Their Mothers and Sisters to Stay Silent? That Is Not Possible. Dr. Sabiha Baloch

Turbat The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) Kech organized a seminar to protest the state-led crackdown on its leaders, including unlawful arrests, imprisonment, and torture.

A large number of political and social activists, as well as members of the public, participated in the event.

Addressing the seminar, Dr. Sabiha Baloch, a leader of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee, strongly condemned the state’s attempts to silence Baloch voices through propaganda platforms like “Voice of Balochistan,” which she claimed receive millions in funding. “It is impossible to silence the blood and bodies of the Baloch. They speak. I am here to break the fear the state has imposed. The blood being shed is itself a guarantee of our resistance,” she stated.

Dr. Sabiha Baloch highlighted the pain inflicted on Baloch mothers by the state, emphasizing that the suffering can no longer be endured in silence. “The mothers who have lost their loved ones are now symbols of our resistance. We must assure them that the Baloch nation stands beside them.”

She further criticized the targeting of Marri Baloch people in Kohlu, Kahan, and Barkhan through staged encounters. “From a single household, a father and two sons are disappeared. Later, the bodies of the sons are returned in fake encounters while the father remains missing. And the state expects their mothers and sisters to remain silent? That is not possible.”

Dr. Baloch urged the public to stand in solidarity: “We must send a message to every mother and sister—‘Do not stay silent. The Baloch nation stands with you.’ We must resist the fear imposed by the state both mentally and practically.”

She criticized traditional Baloch leadership, warning, “The very sardars and nobles we chase today may become the killers of our children tomorrow. Today, the impression is being created that Baloch is the enemy of Baloch. I am here to dismantle that narrative. We must unite and continue the resistance. This flowing blood is the assurance of our survival and victory.”

Dr. Baloch stated, “Either the Baloch must become Pakistan, or Pakistan must become Baloch. The Baloch must respond to oppression with resistance unless the state grants them the right to live, to political expression, and to self-determination. Until these rights are granted, we must resist to our last breath. Resistance is not just our identity — it is our only path to survival.”

She called the pain and grief of Baloch mothers a collective national legacy. “The stories of the missing persons and fake encounters are not just individual tragedies — they are the suffering of an entire nation. It is our duty to take these stories to every corner. Every Baloch must make their pain known, so that individual suffering transforms into a collective voice.”

Dr. Sabiha Baloch emphasized that every Baloch must play their role: “Doctors must treat wounded Baloch with compassion, lawyers must fight the cases of the disappeared, and ordinary citizens must help take the injured to hospitals. Only when every individual connects with collective consciousness can true national unity be achieved.”

She harshly criticized the state’s policies, saying, “If the state believes it can dismantle the Baloch Yakjehti Committee, it is deeply mistaken. BYC is not just a name — it is a movement that lives in the heart of every conscious Baloch. As long as the Baloch exist, BYC will live on.”

Dr. Sabiha Baloch urged people to share their stories and grievances through the BYC platform so that their voices can reach the wider society and the world.

The seminar also featured speeches by Mehrab Gichki Advocate of the Balochistan National Party (BNP) and Majeed Shah Advocate, President of the Kech Bar Association. They discussed the issue of enforced disappearances, human rights violations, and the absence of judicial justice.

A panel discussion was held with the families of missing persons, who shared harrowing accounts of the disappearance of their loved ones.

The event also highlighted Baloch literature and culture, including a poetry session where local and renowned poets presented verses reflecting the struggles, pain, and hopes of the Baloch nation.

The seminar continued late into the night and concluded with participants renewing their commitment to the mission and goals of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee.
