Beebow Baloch, a member of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), has been transferred to Pishin Jail by state forces after being subjected to severe torture at Huda Jail.
In a video message, Beebow’s brother Balakh Sher Baloch confirmed the transfer, stating that surveillance cameras have been installed inside Beebow’s jail cell and washroom. Beebow has also started a hunger strike inside the jail.
According to Balakh Sher, during a family visit to Pishin Jail, Beebow confirmed that Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel had tortured her and taken her to the Samungli police station, where she was physically assaulted by male police officers.
When the family had earlier visited Huda Jail to meet Beebow, female police officers allegedly threatened to arrest his cousin and aunt.
Beebow’s brother added that after a three-hour wait at Pishin Jail, the family was allowed to meet her. During the visit, Beebow confirmed the torture and the intense surveillance she is under. She also disclosed that Dr. Mahrang Baloch and Gulzadi Baloch had also been subjected to violence.
It should be noted that last night, CTD officials abducted Beebow Baloch from within Huda Jail and took her to an undisclosed location, while Dr. Mahrang and Gulzadi were brutally tortured.
Dr. Mahrang Baloch and Beebow Baloch were arrested on March 22, 2025, in Quetta during a peaceful protest alongside other members of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee. They have been charged under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order (3-MPO), a law often used in Pakistan to detain political activists for extended periods without trial.
