Chairman of the Baloch National Movement (BNM), Dr. Naseem Baloch, has strongly condemned the recent statement by Pakistan’s Army Chief Asim Munir, in which he threatened to “crush ten generations of the Baloch nation.”
In a statement, Dr. Naseem Baloch said that this is not merely a threat but a horrifying declaration of genocide and a brutal reflection of the state’s deeply rooted colonial mindset and hatred toward the Baloch people. “This is not just an intimidation tactic, it is an outright admission. It is also a confession of the military establishment’s failure to silence a nation that has resisted occupation, exploitation and repression for over seven decades,” he said. “Such language coming from the highest military office of the state exposes the true face of the Pakistani state.”
He emphasized that this confirms the Baloch are not merely facing a counterinsurgency campaign, but a full-scale genocidal operation. “This is the same army that has abducted thousands of Baloch, dumped mutilated bodies, bombarded villages and now dares to openly declare the destruction of future generations. Yet history has proven that nations are not destroyed by threats”.
Dr. Naseem Baloch further stated that the Baloch national struggle is not driven by fear but by sacrifice and an unshakable desire for freedom. “If one generation is attacked, the next will rise even stronger. No brutality can erase a people’s yearning for dignity and liberation. The international community must condemn this statement by the Pakistani military as an incitement to genocide.”
He concluded by saying, “Silence in the face of such open threats only empowers the oppressors. The Baloch nation will remember this, and history will judge not only the perpetrators but also those who stood with them.”
