Baloch pro-independence leader, Advocate Rahim Baloch, has strongly condemned the recent wave of arrests and fabricated cases against Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) leaders and activists.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he stated that the Pakistani military, intelligence agencies, and the puppet administration led by Sarfraz Bugti have intensified the use of force and violence against the families of forcibly disappeared Baloch individuals, including women, children and political activists. He specifically denounced the arrests of BYC leaders Dr. Mahrang Baloch, Beebow Baloch, Bibagr Baloch, and Sammi Deen Baloch, along with other activists, calling the false cases against them highly condemnable.
He further asserted that Pakistan’s repressive actions not only violate fundamental human rights and democratic freedoms but also expose the occupying state’s colonial and oppressive nature. He described the violence against Baloch women, children, and human rights defenders as not only a blatant violation of democratic rights but also a crime against humanity.
Rahim Baloch emphasized that the occupying Pakistani state has always feared Baloch democratic movements, as they expose the state’s crimes and oppressive policies. He accused Pakistan of attempting to silence Baloch voices through intimidation and violence, ensuring that its military, intelligence agencies, and armed proxies continue their campaign of enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings without accountability.
He also criticized the silence of the people and political parties in Punjab and across Pakistan on the state’s atrocities against Baloch women and children, stating that it proves the reality that Pakistan and occupied Balochistan are two separate entities with distinct histories, identities, interests, and priorities that are inherently conflicting. He concluded that the only just, natural, and lasting solution to this bloody conflict is Balochistan’s independence from Pakistan’s colonial rule.
