Shal (Monitoring Desk): The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has declared a province-wide strike across Balochistan following the deadly crackdown on peaceful protesters in Quetta. According to the BYC statement, the Pakistani state’s security forces opened fire directly on peaceful demonstrators, resulting in the martyrdom of five individuals, with dozens more injured. Seven of the injured are reported to be in critical condition.
In light of this brutal act, the BYC has called for a general strike across Balochistan to protest against the state’s continuous repression. The statement also highlighted that protests with the martyrs’ bodies are ongoing at Saryab Road Quetta, and the BYC has urged the people of Quetta to join the protests at the earliest.
The Baloch Yakjehti Committee remains resolute in its fight against the state’s oppression and continues to advocate for Balochistan’s rights.
