The spokesperson of the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), Jeeyand Baloch, issued a statement to the media, stating that Baloch fighters targeted the occupying Pakistani forces, death squad operatives, and surveillance cameras in three separate operations in Naal, Quetta and Saami.
He stated that on March 5, BLA fighters targeted Samad Smalani, the head of a so-called death squad formed by Pakistani intelligence agencies, in Naal city Khuzdar, using a remote-controlled IED attack. As a result of the explosion, the enemy operative was severely injured, while three of his associates were killed on the spot, and their vehicle was destroyed.
The spokesperson added that Samad Smalani has been directly involved in military aggression, home invasions, enforced disappearances and the target killings of Baloch people in Naal, Gresha, Panjgur and surrounding areas while leading the death squad on behalf of the occupying forces.
The statement further revealed that in return for his anti-Baloch activities, the Pakistani forces had granted Samad Smalani impunity for drug trafficking, extortion and robbery. Under the patronage of enemy forces, he has been involved in land grabs in Raghe, Hub and Kuda, as well as forcing families at gunpoint to marry off their daughters against their will.
The BLA stated that due to his betrayal of the nation, Samad Smalani remains on our hit list and all individuals associated with him will also be direct target of Baloch fighters.
The spokesperson emphasized that the attack in Naal specifically targeted Samad Smalani and his operatives. He added that Baloch fighters prioritize avoiding civilian casualties, but enemy forces and their operatives often use civilians as human shields, which sometimes results in unintended harm despite maximum caution. The BLA expressed deep sorrow over any civilian losses and urged the Baloch public to maintain a safe distance from the occupying forces and their local collaborators (death squads) to avoid harm.
In another operation, BLA fighters targeted a Pakistani military post on Quetta at Kambarani Road on the night of March 4 using a grenade attack.
Additionally, in the Sami area of Kech, BLA fighters destroyed surveillance cameras and their electrical equipment installed by Pakistani forces at three different locations.
