Mama Qadeer Baloch has accused Pakistan of treating Balochistan as an occupied territory, using oppressive tactics akin to those of an occupying force. He stated that enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, targeted assassinations of political activists, students and military raids on civilian populations have become routine under Pakistan’s rule.
Speaking at the protest camp of the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP), Mama Qadeer emphasized that these actions are part of a systematic campaign to suppress the Baloch people’s struggle for their rights. The VBMP protest, which demands justice for victims of enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings, has now reached its 5,750th day.
On Wednesday, BSO Pajjar’s Vice Chairman Dr. Tariq Baloch, MJ Baloch, and National Party Balochistan’s General Secretary Changez Baloch visited the camp to express solidarity with the families of the missing persons.
Mama Qadeer revealed that since 2000, thousands of Baloch have been forcibly disappeared, with at least 20,000 individuals allegedly falling victim to custodial killings. Despite ongoing protests, rallies, legal petitions and hunger strikes, the international community has largely remained indifferent to their suffering.
He reaffirmed that those advocating for the recovery of the missing remain steadfast in their struggle. We have endured threats, hardships and repression from Pakistani institutions, yet our movement remains peaceful. It is disheartening that the world continues to ignore our plight simply because we belong to an occupied nation,
