Mastung: Pakistani Drone Attack Kills 4 Labourers, Injures 3

Mastung drone attack

MASTUNG, BALOCHSITAN: A Pakistani drone attack struck laborers working in an orchard at Geet, in the Khudkocha area of Mastung, killing four laborers and injuring three others.

The bodies of the deceased and the injured were transported to Shaheed Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Raisani Hospital.

According to rescue sources, the injured include Ali Raza Mengal, Naseebullah Abro and Khalid Hussain, while the deceased have been identified as Gul Khan Mughairi, Imran Brohi and Ubaidullah Brohi, all residents of Haji Shahar and Jahanzeb Abro. All those killed and injured had been working as laborers in the orchard.

It is worth noting that this attack follows a Pakistani forces airstrike in the Surab area of Balochistan, which reportedly killed 30 civilians, including a large number of children. The airstrike was widely condemned by the public, political parties, and human rights groups. The Balochistan National Party (BNP) and the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) had observed a one-day strike in protest against the airstrikes on civilians in Surab.

The Surab airstrikes have also drawn international protests. In London, the Baloch National Movement (BNM) held a demonstration and candlelight vigil outside 10 Downing Street to condemn the civilian casualties and pay tribute to the victims, with demonstrators lighting candles in solidarity with affected families and urging an independent, transparent investigation.

On August 19, BNM held a separate protest rally in Amsterdam, Netherlands, where the ongoing violence, oppression, and human rights violations in Balochistan were highlighted before the international community.

BNM has also announced a further demonstration in Busan, South Korea, scheduled for August 23 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Sasang Apple Outlet near Gate No. 5, with organizers urging human rights supporters to join in raising their voices against the killing and suffering of civilians, including women and children.
