LONDON: The Baloch National Movement (BNM) held a demonstration and candlelight vigil outside 10 Downing Street in Westminster, London, to condemn civilian casualties resulting from Pakistan Air Force strikes in Surab, Balochistan and to pay tribute to the victims.

According to demonstrators, Pakistan Air Force airstrikes conducted on August 12 in the Surab region claimed the lives of innocent civilians, including women, children and the elderly. Attendees lit candles in solidarity with the affected families, urging the international community to demand an independent, transparent investigation and hold those responsible to account.

Addressing the gathering, Manzoor Baloch, President of the BNM UK Chapter, said the primary objective of the demonstration was to draw global attention to the worsening situation in Balochistan. He asserted that a sustainable resolution to the ongoing conflict depends on recognizing the Baloch nation’s right to self-determination.

Niaz Baloch, Coordinator of BNM’s Foreign Department, urged international bodies to take immediate notice of the human rights situation in Balochistan. He called for strict oversight and conditions on financial and military aid provided to Pakistan, to ensure these resources are not deployed against civilian populations.
