Enforced disappearances have turned into a constant source of trauma and suffering within Baloch society, creating an endless cycle of anguish. Also, The alarming rise in cases of enforced disappearance and fake arrest continues to be a grave concern in district Kech, Balochistan. Baloch Yakjehti Committee Kech spokesperson said in a statement.
He added “Pakistani Security forces have intensified the persisting issue of forced disappearances in Balochistan, particularly in the Kech District. The district of Kech received 11 cases of enforced disappearances, which were reported only in recent days.
On May 2, 2024, two teenagers were forcibly disappeared by Pakistani security forces from the Newano area of Zamuran district Kech; the abductees were Identified as Dawood Baloch, son of Abdul Wahab Baloch and Shehzad, Son of Ubaid Baloch.
On May 11, 2024, Hayat Baloch, son of Jumma Baloch, was forcibly abducted by CTD at 1:00 AM from his home in the Rest House Bazar Absar area of Turbat. He is a student of Geology and graduated from Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water and Marine Science. After hours, he was charged with fake allegations by CTD.
On May 12, 2024, Adam Baloch, son of Soomar Baloch, a resident of Balghtar, was forcibly picked up by a Pakistan military-backed death squad from the Josaak area of Turbat City.
On May 13, 2024, Khatir Baloch, son of Nokap Baloch, was forcibly disappeared by Pakistani security forces from the Hoshap area of Kech District. Later, he was released.
On May 15, 2024, Iqbal Baloch, son of Allah Dad, a resident of Meri Bug, Turbat, was forcibly disappeared by Pakistani security forces from his home.
On May 17, 2024, at about noon, a Pakistani intelligence agency raided a house in the Meri Kalat area of Turbat. Two brothers named Sagheer Baloch and Qadeer Baloch Sajad were forcibly disappeared. Later, they released Qadeer Baloch, but Sagheer Baloch’s whereabouts are unknown.
On May 18, 2024, Pakistani forces forcibly disappeared Mohammad Saleh Baloch, son of Tariq Baloch and his three friends during a house raid in Absar, Turbat city, at 1 o’clock. The other detainees, identified as Imtiaz Baloch, son of Iqbal Baloch, Waseem Baloch, son of Hassan Baloch and Ijaz Baloch, son of Umeed Baloch.
Statement added “Enforced disappearance stands as the Pakistan security forces’ primary tool to stifle Baloch’s consciousness, viewing it as the key to suppressing Baloch’s national identity.
Thus, Baloch Yakjehti Committee Kech appeals to the international community and human rights bodies to fulfill their vital role against enforced disappearances in Balochistan.
