QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN: The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), a separatist organization, has claimed a sustained and intense campaign of attacks throughout June 2026 against Pakistani security forces, defense and economic installations, and communication infrastructure across Balochistan, according to a statement issued by its spokesperson, Major Gwahram Baloch.
According to the group, these well-organized and coordinated operations spanned 14 different areas, including Naal, Gwadar, Mand, Buleda, Nushki, Shahrag, Dasht, Panjgur, Surab, Kalat, Turbat, Barkhan, Tump, and Hoshab. The group said the objective of these operations was to paralyze the state’s colonial structure in Balochistan, prevent resource exploitation, and uproot military control over the region.
The BLF claimed its fighters carried out a total of 25 armed operations during June, including a historic strategic operation in Naal city, Khuzdar. As a result of these operations, the group claimed 58 Pakistani army personnel were killed and more than 11 wounded, while four individuals described by the group as key informants and agents running espionage networks against the movement were also targeted and killed. The BLF said five of its own fighters were Martyred while fighting against enemy forces.
Strategically, the group described the month’s most significant operation as the capture of Naal city, where it claimed to have targeted military, communication, and economic sites. The BLF claimed its fighters took full control of the city, completely destroying Levies and police stations, while two helicopters that arrived to counter the advance were shot down mid-air. The group claimed 33 army personnel were killed in this operation alone.
The BLF further claimed that, in order to cut off enemy supply and logistics, its fighters set up roadblocks on four major highways, during which two military convoys were ambushed, reportedly causing casualties and material damage. The group also claimed coordinated attacks on three major military camps and five checkpoints.
On the technical and communications front, the BLF claimed to have shot down two surveillance drones, destroyed three modern ground surveillance cameras, and disabled five mobile phone towers to disrupt communications. On the material front, the group claimed 11 military vehicles were destroyed during operations and explosions, while 19 modern weapons and other military equipment were seized from retreating personnel during what it called Operation Naal and other operations.
The BLF said it employed a range of guerrilla tactics during the month, claiming five heavy weapons attacks, five IED/remote-control bomb explosions, five organized ambushes, and three grenade launcher attacks on enemy positions which the group presented as evidence of its military capability and planning.
The statement concluded with the BLF paying tribute to those it described as national martyrs killed in operations against Pakistani forces, and reaffirmed its stated commitment to continuing operations until what it called the complete liberation of Balochistan.
