QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN; In two separate security incidents in Balochistan, armed men seized a gas company supply vehicle near Quetta, while Pakistani forces faced fierce resistance for the second consecutive day in Mastung as they attempted to deliver rations and supplies to their isolated army posts.
According to source, in the Daghari area adjacent to Quetta, armed men set up a roadblock on the highway and seized a vehicle that was transporting rations to the Karkar (Zarghoon) Gas Field. The driver of the vehicle was also taken into custody by the armed men during the incident.
In the Dasht area of Mastung, at the Kurri Dor location, fresh clashes erupted between Pakistani forces and armed men as a large number of security personnel attempted to advance toward their posts to deliver rations and other essential supplies. According to sources, the Pakistani forces have been facing serious difficulties in reaching their isolated posts due to repeated armed attacks.
Two days prior, Pakistani forces were also forced to retreat from the same area following armed attacks, failing on that occasion as well to deliver rations and supplies to their posts.
Sources confirmed that the forces have sustained casualties in these clashes, however authorities have not yet provided any official details regarding the losses.
No group has claimed responsibility for these incidents so far. However, it is worth noting that Baloch armed pro-independence groups have previously targeted gas fields and their supply convoys on multiple occasions in the past.
