KARACHI, SINDH: Senior leaders of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), SamMi Deen Baloch, a central leader and Lala Abdul Wahab Baloch, the committee’s deputy organizer, recently held a meeting with Asad Iqbal Butt, Chairman of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) and Qazi Khizr, the Commission’s Vice Chairman.
The meeting focused on a thorough exchange of views regarding the ongoing legal cases against Dr. Mahrang Baloch and her detained fellow activists. The BYC leaders highlighted concerns over the fairness of judicial proceedings, including the use of faceless trials and denial of fundamental legal rights.
In addition to discussing the legal matters, the parties also deliberated on the broader political and human rights situation currently prevailing in Balochistan. The BYC representatives emphasized the continued repression, enforced disappearances, and state violence impacting the people of Balochistan.
This engagement reflects BYC’s efforts to raise awareness about human rights violations in Balochistan and seek support from national institutions like the HRCP to advocate for justice and political freedoms for the Baloch people.
