BLA Claims Custody of ASF Deputy Director Waseem Ahmed

QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for detaining Waseem Ahmed, Deputy Director and Commanding Officer of Pakistan’s Airport Security Force (ASF).

In a brief statement issued to the media, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch confirmed that Waseem Ahmed is currently in the group’s custody. He said BLA fighters identified and detained the officer on the main highway in Kalat, adding that the operation was carried out on the basis of intelligence provided by the group’s intelligence wing, Zirab.

The spokesperson said further details would be released to the media shortly.

The BLA also released a photograph of the detained officer alongside the statement.
