
BALOCHISTAN: In two separate incidents, a Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) officer was shot and killed in Turbat while two labourers working for a road construction company went missing under suspicious circumstances in Duki.
A CTD officer was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Turbat’s Dashti Bazaar near Naveed Service on Tuesday. The victim was identified as Shabir Ahmed Askani.
According to police, unknown assailants opened fire on the officer at close range, killing him on the spot. Following the attack, police and law enforcement agencies cordoned off the area, collected evidence, and launched a search operation for the suspects.
The body was transferred to Turbat Teaching Hospital for legal formalities while investigations into the incident are ongoing.
In a separate incident, two labourers employed by a road construction company went missing under mysterious circumstances from the Karhaz Camp area of Duki district.
Police identified the missing men as Wazir Khan, 29, son of Mohammad Nawaz Treen, and Aminullah, 20, son of Asad Shan Treen both residents of Ismail Shahr. The two workers had finished their shift at the company’s site camp and were heading home to Ismail Shahr when they disappeared around 8:00 PM the previous night.
Their motorcycle was later found abandoned on the roadside near Main Nana Sahib Road, and both men’s mobile phones have been switched off, raising serious concerns about their safety.
Police have launched a search operation and further investigations are underway.
