KHARAN, BALOCHISTAN: A young motorcyclist was shot and killed by state-backed armed elements near the mountainous Raskoh area of Kharan.

The deceased has been identified as Ali Jan, son of Asghar Ali Siayapad, a resident of Eri Kallag area.

According to sources, the armed group had been lying in ambush since the previous day in the Raskoh mountain range, disguised as freedom fighters, reportedly in pursuit of local resistance fighters.

Sources further said that when Ali Jan passed by on his motorcycle, the gunmen called out to him to stop. When he did not halt, they opened fire, killing him on the spot.

It is worth noting that the state-backed armed group, locally known as the “Death Squad,” operates under the patronage of the Pakistani Army across Balochistan. The group has largely targeted political activists, civilians, and human rights defenders in the region. Public figures and human rights organizations have repeatedly raised their voices against the existence and activities of this group.
