QUETTA: Balochistan’s Naseerabad region, along with several other areas, is experiencing an intense heatwave, with temperatures soaring up to 46 degrees Celsius. The severe shortage of electricity and water has badly disrupted daily life, leaving markets deserted and forcing people to remain confined to their homes.

According to local source, Naseerabad, Dera Murad Jamali, Tamboo, Chattar, Faleji, Notal, Bakhtiarabad, Bhag, Usta Muhammad, Dera Allah Yar, Sohbatpur, Landhi Sharif, Gandawah, Jhal Magsi, and surrounding regions have all come under the grip of extreme and harsh weather conditions.

On Sunday, temperatures climbed as high as 46 degrees Celsius, while hot winds dominated throughout the day. In Dera Murad Jamali and nearby areas, prolonged power outages and unannounced load shedding severely affected human life.

Extended electricity breakdowns brought business activities to a standstill, while residents faced extremely painful conditions. In Dera Murad Jamali city, a severe drinking water crisis has also emerged, with acute shortages reported across all eastern and western wards. People are struggling even for a single drop of water.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility that the intensity of the heatwave may increase further in the coming days.
