BLA Claims Responsibility for 27 Attacks Killing 42 Pakistani Soldiers, Capturing One, and Seizing Weapons

QUETTA: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) spokesperson, Jeeyand Baloch, has claimed responsibility for 27 attacks carried out across Balochistan between April 15 and April 25, 2026. According to the spokesperson, these operations resulted in the deaths of 42 Pakistani military personnel, the capture of one soldier alive, and the seizure of weapons from Pakistani forces.

The BLA fighters employed various tactics including remote-controlled improvised explosive devices (IEDs), drone attacks, ambushes and assaults on police and military installations. Key incidents include:

On April 15 in Zehri, Khuzdar, an IED attack killed three soldiers, followed by an ambush killing seven more and injuring several others. The enemy forces fled, abandoning their dead and vehicles. Subsequent retaliatory actions by security forces targeted civilians, resulting in 11 deaths.

On April 16 in Almark, Kharan, BLA fighters attacked advancing military convoys with IEDs and ambushes, killing at least seven soldiers and destroying two vehicles. The same day, an IED attack targeted police patrols in Quetta, injuring two officers.

On April 17 in Kohlu, the BLA assassinated key military collaborator Sher Afzal Zarkoon, who was involved in enforced disappearances and military aggressions. Further attacks targeted “death squad” convoys and advancing military personnel, causing several casualties.

On April 18, during clashes in Harnai, one soldier named Abdul Haleem was captured alive by BLA Fighters. The BLA also seized a levies check-post in Jhal Magsi and destroyed a camp of a pro-government armed group. Supply vehicles were captured and torched in Zamran, and attacks in Panjgur and Khuzdar killed two soldiers.

On April 19, in Zamran and Mastung, several Pakistani soldiers were killed or injured during ambushes and attacks on advancing troops. Notable martyrs included Sangat Shah Karam Malazai and Sangat Asim Shahwani.

On April 22, BLA fighters attacked CTD convoys in Nushki, seized levies posts in Dalbandin and launched a drone attack on a military camp in Mastung, killing two soldiers and injuring four.

On April 24, the BLA seized control of a site operated by an oil and gas company near Quetta and destroyed heavy machinery. An IED and ambush attack near Surab’s Hajika area killed four soldiers.

On April 25, BLA fighters targeted military personnel in Kalat’s Zawa area with an IED, killing two soldiers and injuring three. They also seized the police station and rest house in Dalbandin, confiscated weapons, and set buildings and vehicles on fire.

The spokesperson paid tribute to the fallen BLA fighters including Sangat Shah Karam MUlazai allies Sachan, Gwahram Baloch allies Kambar and Asim Shahwani allies Rudeen honoring their sacrifices in the struggle for Baloch freedom. He reiterated the BLA’s commitment to continuing the fight until the complete liberation of Balochistan and the expulsion of occupying forces.
