Quetta: The Baloch Woman Forum (BWF) has expressed deep concern over the continuous enforced disappearances of Baloch women in Balochistan, particularly the recent abduction of nursing student Khadija Baloch from Quetta. The forum strongly condemns these actions, stating that targeting women in this manner is a blatant violation of constitutional and legal rights and represents a serious attack on fundamental human rights, dignity, and social values.
The forum emphasized that respect for women is a fundamental principle in Baloch society and targeting them equates to collective punishment of the entire community. Such illegal and unethical measures amplify existing deprivation and mistrust in the region, fueling unrest, agitation, and backlash with potentially long-lasting and damaging consequences.
The Baloch Woman Forum urged state institutions to seriously fulfill their constitutional, legal and moral responsibilities. It called for the immediate recovery of nursing student Khadija Baloch, an end to all enforced disappearances, and ensured transparent and impartial investigations into such incidents so that those responsible are held accountable under the law.
Highlighting the importance of respecting human rights, the rule of law, and delivering justice, the forum stated these are the foundations of sustainable peace, stability, and mutual trust in any society. Deviating from these principles only widens the gap between the state and its people and harms overall social harmony.
