QUETTA: Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) Chairman Nasrullah Baloch has formally submitted the case of forcibly disappeared Muhammad Siddiq Langov to the Provincial Government and the Commission for Missing Persons.
In a statement, Nasrullah Baloch said that the case of Muhammad Siddiq Langov has been handed over to the Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances (Islamabad), the Provincial Minister of Interior, Balochistan Home Department and the Deputy Registrar of the Commission’s Balochistan chapter to ensure immediate legal action.
He emphasized the urgent need for the safe and prompt recovery of Muhammad Siddiq Langov. He further stated that if there are any charges against him, he should be presented in court. The family should be relieved from this painful uncertainty.
According to relatives, Muhammad Siddiq Langov was taken into custody without a warrant at midnight on April 7 from Killi Ismail and transferred to an unknown location. Since then, neither the reasons for his arrest have been disclosed nor any information about his wellbeing provided.
VBMP warned that enforced disappearances are not only a serious violation of human rights but also raise serious questions about the rule of law.
