
QUETTA: The Human Rights Wing of the Baloch National Movement (BNM), PAANK, has strongly condemned the brutal mass killing of civilians in Lohma Zareen, Barkhan. The incident resulted in the deaths of twelve members of a single nomadic Marri tribe family, including women and children, with three others seriously injured.
According to reports received by PAANK, the tragedy occurred while the family was traveling through the Naher Kot Road in a Mazda vehicle during their seasonal migration. Local sources stated that Pakistani security forces opened fire on the vehicle, causing heavy civilian casualties.
The deceased have been identified as: Ali, age 40, son of Sultan Umair, Babul, age 30, wife of Ali, Mir Jaan, age 2, son of Ali, Balach, age 70, son of Sabzo, Soomri, age 35, daughter of Bhangan and wife of Balach, Sado, age 13, daughter of Balach, Allah Bux, age 6, son of Balach, Hapo, age 8, daughter of Balach, Mahrang, age 2, daughter of Balach, Rahman, age 18, son of Balach, Naikho, age 17, daughter of Jamalan and wife of Rahman and Shari, age 22.
The injured include Zar Bibi, age 55, wife of Balach, Hazar Khan, age 9, son of Balach and Israr, age 15, daughter of Balach. Several of the injured are reported to be in critical condition, with concerns raised about some possibly being held in custody by security forces.
PAANK has called for immediate accountability and an end to such violent actions against civilians, urging the international community to take notice of the ongoing human rights violations in the region.
