QUETTA: Dr. Sabiha Baloch, central leader of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), has raised serious concerns over the enforced disappearance of retired Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Bakhsh Sajidi, his brother Naeem Sajidi and Engineer Rafeeq Baloch, former Chief of Sui Gas Balochistan. The three were taken in coordinated raids by Pakistani security forces in the early hours of 2 February 2026 in Hub Chowki, without warrants or any legal process.
Mohammad Bakhsh Sajidi is the father of Dr. Naseem Baloch, Chairman of the Baloch National Movement (BNM). More than two months later, their whereabouts remain unknown, causing immense psychological distress to their families amid ongoing uncertainty and fear.
Dr. Sabiha Baloch condemned the targeting of close relatives of political figures as a deliberate tactic to silence dissent, describing it as collective punishment that violates international human rights standards.
She further emphasized that this case is part of a wider pattern of enforced disappearances in Balochistan, used to suppress political opposition and erode the rule of law. Dr. Sabiha Baloch called for the immediate disclosure of the detainees’ whereabouts, their safe release, and accountability for those responsible.
