MASHKEL, BALOACHISTAN: A large number of Baloch Freedim Fighters entered Mashkel town and control over the entire town, including all government installations.
According to the Zrumbesh source, Baloch Freedim Fighters seized the police station and the customs checkpost and surrounded the main Frontier Corps (FC) camp in the area. Heavy gunfire and explosions were reportedly heard throughout the vicinity as clashes continued.
During the fighting, Baloch Fighters reportedly shot down a quadcopter (drone) operating in the area.
Following the clash, Fighters reportedly conducted search operations and set up checkpoints in several nearby areas including Gonko, Archno, Peshuk, Kataddo and surrounding areas after receiving reports of suspicious individuals entering the region.
During the operation, some individuals were detained on suspicion. Some were later released, while others were reportedly taken away by the Fighters. Their current status and whereabouts remain unknown.
No group has claimed responsibility for the Mashkel takeover. No official statement has been issued by authorities regarding the town’s status, the FC camp, the downed quadcopter, or the search operations.
