MASTUNG: The security situation in Mastung remains tense following reports of armed men attack on a military convoy earlier today, alongside the imposition of snap checkpoints in multiple areas of the district.

According to local reports, blockades were set up by Baloch Freedom Fighters at several points along major roads in Mastung and routes connecting to Quetta, restricting movement in the area.

At Panjpai, a Pakistani forces convoy reportedly came under a heavy weapons attack, resulting in a significant escalation in tensions. In response, helicopters were dispatched from Quetta to provide reinforcement and have reportedly reached the area.

Sources indicate that intermittent gunfire and explosions continue to be heard in the surrounding region, contributing to an atmosphere of instability.

Local sources said that the Baloch freedom fighters set fire to police stations in Mastung and took control of some facilities.
