
Dera Bugti: Reports have emerged from Dera Bugti of a large-scale crackdown involving Pakistan’s Frontier Corps (FC) and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), amid intensified preparations for a possible military operation aimed at facilitating oil and gas exploration in Balochistan.
According to local sources, a total of ten individuals, including an elderly woman, have been forcibly disappeared during the ongoing operations. The incidents are reported to have taken place in separate actions carried out by different Pakistani Forces units in the area.
Sources state that a 65-year-old woman, identified as the wife of Shahal Mamdazi Bugti, was taken by Frontier Corps personnel from the town of Pirkoh. In a separate development, nine other individuals were detained by CTD personnel from Dera Bugti town and have since been reported missing.
The identities of the reported disappeared individuals are as follows: Arbaz, son of Akram Khan Bugti, Qasim Ali, son of Lemo Khan Bugti, Jabbar Khan, son of Hayat Bugti, Mateen, son of Hayat Bugti, Sajjad, son of Bilal Bugti, Amin, son of Noor Din Bugti, Rahzan, son of Dad Mohammad Bugti, Deen Mohammad, son of Raheem Bux Bugti and Dost Ali, son of Malook Bugti.
Local sources report that the situation in the area remains tense amid heightened security presence and ongoing operations. Residents have expressed concern over the reported detentions and the broader security developments in the area.
