Kech: Forces Raid Home of Activist Syed Bibi Baloch, Family Harassed

Sayed Bibi Raid

KECH: Pakistani Security forces reportedly conducted a late-night raid on the residence of political activist Syed Bibi Baloch in Turbat, with her family accusing authorities of harassment during the operation.

According to reports, the raid took place around 12:30 a.m. when security personnel searched the house of Syed Bibi Baloch, who is associated with the Baloch Yakjehti Committee.

Sources said that Syed Bibi Baloch’s name is included in the government’s Fourth Schedule list and that she regularly appears before the Counter Terrorism Department every week as required.

Speaking to the media, Syed Bibi Baloch said that personnel from the Counter Terrorism Department, Frontier Corps and intelligence agencies jointly carried out the raid. She claimed that officers woke up children and women from their sleep, checked mobile phones and scattered household items during the search, causing distress to family members.

She further said that the behavior of the personnel toward women in the house was irresponsible and inappropriate. According to Syed Bibi Baloch, the officials accused her of promoting terrorism, maintaining contacts with Mahrang Baloch and attempting to become “another Dr. Mahrang.”

She added that the officers questioned her about a detained individual identified as Sajid Ahmed, and also sought information about her brother, Dr. Hanif Sharif, including his phone number. She also claimed that the officials alleged she receives funding from abroad.

Syed Bibi Baloch said that since her name is already included in the Fourth Schedule, she regularly reports to the CTD and has already provided her complete personal details to the authorities. Despite this, she said, the raid on her home, harassment of family members, and disturbance of household belongings were difficult to understand.
