
Quetta: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for the killing of CTD Sub-Inspector Metha Khan in Quetta. According to a statement issued by BLA spokesperson Azad Baloch, the attack occurred near the Board Office on Samungli Road on Sunday.
The BLA said the officer was targeted while returning home after taking orders from the ISI and military intelligence. Following the operation, the fighters reportedly returned safely to their positions.
Azad Baloch said that the CTD of being involved in extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances and staged encounters of Baloch political activists across Balochistan, stating that officers linked to the CTD are specifically targeted due to these abuses.
The spokesperson added that the BLA had previously warned CTD-affiliated local officials to refrain from acting as instruments of state forces against the Baloch national movement, but some continued to cooperate.
The BLA reaffirmed that such operations will continue until the independence of Balochistan is achieved.
