QUETTA: The Baloch Students Action Committee (BSAC) has highlighted the historic and ongoing contributions of Baloch women on the occasion of International Women’s Day. In a statement released, the organization emphasized that this day is not merely symbolic but a recognition of women’s struggles, sacrifices, and leadership worldwide, and particularly the role of women in Baloch society.

BSAC’s statement noted that throughout Baloch history, women have symbolized courage, awareness, loyalty, and resistance. From safeguarding social values, cultural identity, and collective dignity to leading their communities during times of hardship, Baloch women have consistently played a central role in societal resilience. The statement cited historical figures such as Hani and Bibi Banari as exemplars of loyalty, wisdom, bravery, and national honor.

“The role of Baloch women has never been limited to domestic spheres,” the BSAC statement read. “They have always been pillars of social consciousness, moral guidance, and collective responsibility, helping to sustain the strength and cultural continuity of Baloch society.”

The organization highlighted that in the 21st century, Baloch women continue this tradition by actively participating in social, political, and humanitarian efforts. They are not only strengthening the foundations of their families and communities but are also raising their voices for education, human dignity, social justice, and basic rights.

BSAC further stated that the current generation of Baloch women represents hope, resistance, and collective responsibility. Their activism is a continuation of a historical legacy in which women have always stood alongside their communities in challenging circumstances.

The statement concluded with a reaffirmation of BSAC’s commitment to support the ongoing struggle of Baloch women, emphasizing that a just, peaceful, and progressive society is only possible when women are provided equal opportunities for leadership, respect, and participation in social and political life.
