QUETTA: The protest camp established by Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) against enforced disappearances in Balochistan has entered its 6,078th day. The camp, led by the organization’s Chairman, Nasrullah Baloch, remains set up in front of the Quetta Press Club.
During this time, individuals from various walks of life have visited the protest camp to express solidarity with the families of the missing persons. They voiced concern over the alleged extrajudicial killings of missing Baloch individuals and demanded the recovery of those who have been forcibly disappeared.
Speaking on the occasion, VBMP Chairman Nasrullah Baloch stated that the organization has received complaints that four Baloch youths from Panjgur and Duki were subjected to enforced disappearance and later extrajudicially killed, with their bodies dumped afterward. The deceased have been identified as Muhammad Fareed Baloch, Muhammad Anwar Baloch, Pazeer Baloch, and Karim Jan.
According to their families, these young men were taken into custody by state institutions last year and earlier this year, after which they were forcibly disappeared. Their bodies, reportedly bearing signs of torture, were later recovered.
Nasrullah Baloch said that the alleged extrajudicial killing of the four forcibly disappeared Baloch youths constitutes a grave violation of human rights, which the organization strongly condemns. He called on the government to take immediate notice of the alleged killings, conduct an impartial investigation to bring the facts before the public, ensure legal action against those responsible, and fulfill its responsibility under national law to provide justice to the affected families.
