Nokkundi on High Alert Amid Intense Aerial Activity, Reports of Foreign Personnel Evacuation

Nokundi

Nokkundi and its surrounding areas have been placed on high alert following unusually heavy aerial activity since late last night. Helicopters and large civilian aircraft have been continuously arriving and departing, creating an environment of heightened security tension. According to local sources and eyewitnesses, such intense air movement has never been witnessed in the region before.

The situation escalated after reported attacks on the night of November 30, when the Sado Operational Battalion (SOB), an affiliate of the Baloch Liberation Front (BLF), targeted a Pakistani Army brigade headquarters and a foreign compound. Personnel linked to the Saindak and Reko Diq projects were reportedly among the targets.

So far, no official statement has been issued by security agencies or the district administration regarding the incident or the ongoing aerial operations.

Local sources report that from around 3:00 a.m. until early morning, continuous take-offs and landings were observed at Nokkundi Airport. This activity has raised serious concerns that foreign nationals working at the compound are being evacuated, or that the bodies of Pakistani security personnel killed in the attack are being transported.

Eyewitnesses confirmed that heavy aircraft flew throughout the night without interruption, an occurrence they described as unprecedented for the region.

The Balochistan Liberation Front has claimed responsibility for the attack, stating that six fighters from its Sado Operational Battalion participated in the operation. However, the group has not yet released a detailed statement regarding the nature or outcome of the attack.
