
Quetta (Monitoring Desk): Four powerful explosions rattled different areas of Balochistan, including Quetta, while armed assailants launched an attack on a police checkpoint in Chaghi.
The first explosion targeted an ATF vehicle on Kerani Road, near Shalkot Police Station, injuring six security personnel, one of whom later succumbed to his injuries. The wounded were shifted to BMC Hospital for treatment. Police confirm that the explosive device was planted along the roadside. The fallen officer has been identified as Sepoy Dilbar Khan.
The second explosion occurred on Kambrani Road, where unidentified attackers hurled a hand grenade at a mobile phone shop. No casualties or damages have been reported.
The third explosion echoed in the Kili Shabo area near Airport Road. Security forces have cordoned off the area, and investigations are underway to determine the impact and nature of the blast.
The fourth attack took place at the Levis Station in Jungle Pir Alizai, Qila Abdullah, where unknown assailants lobbed a hand grenade. Fortunately, there were no reported casualties.
Meanwhile, in Ameenabad, Chagai, heavily armed attackers stormed a Levis checkpoint, seizing weapons and wireless communication devices. The attack unfolded on the evening of March 15, as motorcycle-riding gunmen raided the checkpoint and overpowered security personnel.
Levis forces immediately alerted the control room, prompting a swift response from the Quick Response Force (QRF). During the ensuing engagement, the assailants abandoned their motorcycle and the stolen wireless device before fleeing the scene.
