QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN: United Baloch Army (UBA) fighters shot dead a man identified as Nasrullah Jatoi, son of Hakim, described by the group as a “state informer,” in the Daghari Crossing area of Quetta at around 10:00 a.m. on the morning of August 9, killing him on the spot, according to a statement issued by the group.

The statement claimed the man had worked for Pakistani intelligence and state institutions for several years and had also been affiliated with the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD). It said he played a role in the arrest of several Baloch youths and in identifying Baloch separatists on various occasions.

The spokesperson said that on August 11, a tower on the main transmission line running from Dera Murad Jamali to Sibi was destroyed using explosives near Bakhtiar Abad Domki in the Sibi area, cutting off the power supply from the Uch Power Plant in Dera Murad Jamali to the Sibi grid station.

On the night of August 13, in two separate operations, the group claimed it destroyed the Kambari Bridge on the N-65 National Highway in Bolan using explosives, causing severe damage and suspending traffic on the route.

In a further claimed operation on the night of August 13 at around 9:50 p.m., the group said it targeted the Do Pasi Bridge on Dhadar-Sanni Road in the main town of Kachhi district with explosives, severely damaging a large section of the bridge and cutting off traffic between Dhadar and Sanni.

The group claimed these attacks caused significant damage to the “enemy’s” logistics supply, movement and military resupply systems, alleging the targeted bridges were used by Pakistani forces for the daily transport of military equipment, troop movement and operational activities. UBA claimed responsibility for all the attacks.

The statement said such attacks would continue “until the achievement of a free Balochistan.”
