QILA ABDULLAH: Armed men opened fire on a vehicle carrying a family from Karachi in the Saigi area of Qila Abdullah, killing two women on the spot and injuring a father and daughter, police said.
Police said the incident occurred as the Karachi-based family had come to Tehsil Gulistan for business purposes. Their vehicle was targeted in the Saigi area, where the two women died at the scene.
According to sources, the injured father and daughter were shifted to Trauma Center Quetta in critical condition, while the bodies of the deceased women were taken to Abdul Rahmanzai Hospital.
Police said the victims had arrived in Gulistan two days earlier for business-related matters. According to initial reports, the vehicle was fired upon by a tribal group after it failed to stop.
Sources said the Saigi area is considered highly dangerous for civilian movement due to ongoing tribal disputes and that police access to the area is reportedly difficult.
Police sources said no case (FIR) has been registered so far, and no arrests have been made in connection with the firing.
