PARIS: Dr. Naseem Baloch, Chairman of the Baloch National Movement (BNM), has called on the international community to take urgent notice of an airstrike carried out in the Sorab area of Balochistan, which reportedly killed 27 civilians, including a large number of children.
In a statement issued after the attack on Social media platform X, Dr. Baloch said the images emerging from Sorab looked as though they had come from Gaza or Palestine, where bombing campaigns have claimed the lives of children, the elderly and other civilians. “This is not Gaza,” he said, “this is Balochistan.”

According to Dr. Baloch, Pakistani forces conducted the bombing in Sorab overnight. He described the photographs of the dead and wounded particularly those of children and elderly residents as deeply distressing.
He said the incident was not an isolated one, asserting that the Baloch people have endured decades of enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, military operations and systematic violence. He characterized the situation as genocide against the Baloch population and said it was worsening with each passing day, warranting immediate international attention.
Dr. Baloch further stated that the hardships faced by the Baloch people have persisted since Pakistan’s occupation of Balochistan in 1948. He drew a comparison to global advocacy for Palestinian children, saying that Baloch children deserve the same level of attention, solidarity and protection from the international community.
