
QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN: The Central Police Office (CPO) of Balochistan Police in Quetta has issued a threat alert warning that Quetta city may face large-scale, lethal, and coordinated attacks.
According to the police directive, Baloch separatist armed groups have shared a message across various channels indicating coordinated attacks in Quetta on August 7.
According to police, the message states that four thousand fighters of the group including suicide bombers will take part in these operations and that the organization will attempt to seize control of the city.
The group has also asked residents not to leave their homes during this period.
The directive instructs all relevant police officials to further tighten security and protective measures in their respective areas, maintain extraordinary vigilance, and make advance arrangements to prevent any untoward incident.
Additionally, the Balochistan Police Central Office has directed the relevant SSPs and SPs to submit a report on the measures taken within three days, so that it can be presented to the Inspector General of Police, Balochistan, for review.
This communication has also been sent to senior Balochistan Police officials, the Chief Secretary of Balochistan, NACTA, the FC, Rangers, and other relevant institutions for information and necessary action.
