QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN: BLF Claims Killing of 35 Personnel and Agents, Including SSG Commandos and Death-Squad Leader’s Son, in Eight Operations
The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) claimed responsibility on for eight separate attacks on Pakistani security forces carried out between July 28 and August 3, 2026, in Surab, Khuzdar, Turbat, Heeronk and Paidrak. In a statement issued by a spokesperson, “Major Gwaharam Baloch,” the group said 35 security personnel and allied individuals, including Special Services Group (SSG) commandos, were killed across the operations.
According to the statement, BLF fighters attacked a Pakistani army convoy with heavy and automatic weapons at Surab Bypass on August 3, claiming seven soldiers killed and four wounded. The group also claimed a separate ambush the same day in Surab’s Gidar area, saying three soldiers were killed and several wounded, with military vehicles damaged.
The statement further claimed an attack on a five-vehicle army convoy in Khuzdar’s Lakhoriyan area on August 2, saying several soldiers were killed or wounded and two vehicles damaged. On August 1, the group claimed a grenade attack on a Frontier Corps checkpoint in Turbat’s Sangani Sar area, wounding two personnel, as well as a separate grenade-launcher attack on an FC camp in Heeronk Bazaar, which it said caused casualties and material losses.
In what the group described as its largest operation, BLF claimed an ambush on an army convoy at Zeedi Cross on the Quetta-Karachi highway in Khuzdar on July 29, Sayging 15 personnel killed, including SSG commandos and several vehicles, including an armored vehicle, damaged. The group said its fighters withdrew before reinforcements and helicopters arrived. Separately, the group said that Pakistani forces subsequently fired on civilians, including oil trade drivers, in the area a claim that also remains unverified.
In its statement, BLF said that the Paidrak checkpoint had operated since 2014 under military patronage as a base for extortion, torture, and enforced disappearances, and accused Sardar Aziz of leading a state-backed armed group responsible for attacks on Zikri-sect civilians and for falsely attributing those killings to groups such as Daesh (ISIS) and Lashkar-e-Khorasan.
Major Gwahram Baloch siad that, the primary target of this successful operation carried out on July 28 was the death squad’s senior commander and Sardar Aziz’s son, Shah Baig Aziz, who, like his father, was at the forefront of anti-Baloch operations under the patronage of the occupying army.
BLF fighters carried out a coordinated attack on his base, surrounding him along with his armed associates and killing him on the spot. As a result of the clash and successful operation, a total of 7 death-squad agents were killed, including the death-squad leader’s son Shah Baig Aziz, Amanullah son of Sher Muhammad, and Altaf Hussain son of Murad, while their base and checkpoint were completely destroyed. After successfully achieving all the objectives, our fighters managed to safely reach their secure bases.
The Balochistan Liberation Front claims responsibility for all these eight different operations carried out in Surab, Khuzdar, Turbat, Hirronk, and Pedrak.
